ELECTRICAL

Lighting
Lighting updates can truly transform the look, feel, and usability of a space. Although sometimes overlooked, lighting can truly make or break a redesign. People are so used to the function of lights as on or off that they take for granted how much lighting changes a space. It can create a cozy mood in an area you relax or make a kitchen feel more welcoming and cheerful. Have you ever been in a basement that didn’t have enough light? Did you want to stay? Have you tried to work in a garage with a single bulb? Yikes!
Great lighting can move beyond function, bringing textures and interest into your design. Current trends in lighting incorporate sustainable and natural materials such as glass, bamboo, wood. It even brings the spirit of nature indoors with shapes and textures reminiscent of trees, leaves, and water. There are styles of lighting, like recessed lighting, that don’t tend to go out of style, but the way they are done can be refreshed to keep your home from looking dated.
Additionally, as homes become “smarter”, there is an opportunity to switch to more energy efficient lighting that you can program to match the rhythms of your life. Walk into a warm and welcoming home by programing the lights to automatically turn on and the temperature to adjust on the thermostat before you get home.

Wiring
We encounter many basic electrical updates on large space remodels, often because a previous owner of a home got ambitious and tried to install something on their own. We can return these types of changes to code and make sure that your electrical is installed safely and correctly.
Some people don’t realize that trying to save money by doing their own wiring can actually create a fire hazard that might end up costing so much more than hiring an electrician.
Have a new hot tub you need an outlet for or need to make any other wiring changes including moving or adding outlets or switches, updating your breaker box? We’ve got you covered.
Sometimes in older homes there is a need to update old wiring. Are you noticing flickering lights a lot? Does it seem like your breakers trip more than they should? Are you blowing fuses? Does your house have mostly two prong outlets? Give us a call so we can come out and inspect your home. This can not only improve the safety of your home, but in some cases updating wiring can even lower your home insurance premiums. Additionally, older wiring can even damage newer electronics like your computer or your brand new flatscreen.
Whether you want to update your lighting or make your current wiring setup safer or more functional OR improve them as part of a larger remodeling project, we are owned by a fully licensed and insured Master Electrician who will get your job done. Your safety and satisfaction are our utmost priorities!
